About My Take Home

An independent UK site that answers one question clearly: what will actually land in your bank account?

Why this site exists

Most people know their salary but not their take-home pay, especially after a pay rise, a move to Scotland or starting to repay a student loan. This site works it out in seconds, using the official rates for the current tax year. It's run by an independent UK writer and isn't linked to any employer, payroll company, bank or financial adviser.

How we calculate

We work everything out over the whole tax year using the standard tax code 1257L, then divide by 12 or 52. Real payslips are worked out period by period, so yours may differ by a few pounds, or by more if you have a different tax code, benefits in kind or more than one job. This site gives estimates, not financial advice.
